  Zero: First confirmed sighting...

...captured on film.

http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/asiapcf/09/27/japan.squid.ap/index.html

For those of you who don't know:

The giant squid is one of those things that we've always heard about. We've always known they were out there somewhere but we've never actually seen any live ones before. Up until now the only proof of their existance were ones found in the bellies of whales or dead ones that washed up on shore.

For those of you who don't care:

Carry on.

Women can talk longer with less effort than can men. That has been proved repeatedly. Why? Because the vocal cords of women are shorter than those of men and so release less air through them to carry the sound. It's all a matter of breathing.

A team of medical experts in Virginia contends you're more likely to catch the common cold virus by shaking hands than by kissing.

Man is the only animal who'll eat with an enemy.

Many an early wooden bathtub was fitted with a shelf across the middle to hold food and drink. Oval in shape, said tub was designed so two people could face each other over the shelf, and dine. The practice was practical, to get the maximum out of a minimum of hot water. But it fell out of favor when Queen Victoria moved the morality of the western world.

Studies by Dr. Karl F. Robinson of Northwestern University reportedly prove that men change their minds two or three times more often than do women.

The average woman uses up approximately her height in lipstick every five years.

Ladies in nudist camps tend to use more makeup than ladies elsewhere.

Scholars recently returned from New Guinea said they noted a lot of elderly natives there had missing fingers. Research revealed that it was the custom some years ago for a young fighting man to give his lucky girlfriend a finger cut from the hand of an opponent. And said girlfriend wore that finger on a string around her neck.

  Zero: Mabuhay(sp?)

Yeah, ok... So here I am in the Philippines. It's been pretty fun so far and is supposed to get a whole lot better from what I hear. In a few days we're gonna be taking a plane to some paradise island that I'm told stomps Cancun. And yes Adam, it's that same island where tourists were kidnapped and beheaded, heh heh. But it's cool, 'cause we're gonna be on the "other" side of the island. lol.

Anyways, sorry all, but I'm too lazy to post pics today. Fear not for they will come... eventually. Yeah, yeah, I know. A post without a few pics from me is unheard of. But I guess the heat (humid heat), can make a guy lazy here.

Jason AKA: [RT] NegativePwr: New Blog Admin

Let's all put our hands together for our newest blog admin. Bob Congrats....Let's see what creative shit you can do. This thing needs some spice.

Jason AKA: [RT] NegativePwr: WhAt ThE CrAp OvEr!@#!!@$!@#$)(

Ok......I need my peeps back in the real world to get it together and start the posting game again. Let's get some activity on this mother.
BOB - I have not heard anything from the dwarf realm in awhile.
KERN - Where are those witty comical comments.
GERRY - More pics and interesting facts about guns.
Everyone else....LETS GET POSTIN AGAIN!!!

On another subject... I have settled in here rather well. I am still collecting some pics to post. However the camp here is sweet and about 1,672.12 times better than my last project. Unfortunately I do not think it will last as long as I would like and could find my self coming home earlier than expected. However this is ok because I should be able to meet the financial goals I have set out to make and I am already missing a normal life. The crew I work with here is cool although that could change because they are all leaving by the end of the year and my old boss from CMC could be taking over...ARGGG....Oh well.. I will just shoot him in the crotch...LOL Sorry inside joke all.... Anyway... Back to the grind...All of you back home Button down the hatches for the incoming hurricane.. I hope all is well

PS Note to Michelle (If you still read the blog): I still read the journal and I remember the username and password. Just letting you know some people still read it.

  Zero: Moving on...

K01e: Holy fuck, that's awesome. MGS-4 is definitely on my list... Umm... I suppose that means the PS3 is too. But oh well.
*AND THANK YOU FOR THE HEADS UP ON SPACE: ABOVE AND BEYOND*
Dude, you rock. \m/

Anna: You stalker!!! Heh, just kidding. And hey, I'll cya soon. We'll do some balut together. Heheheh.

Lizard: Yup, that's the place. And I really hope that fine long-haired guy you saw was me too. ;-)

Paradise lost....

...but never forgotten.

  Zero: ...

I know it probably doesn't matter, but I'm kinda disappointed I neglected this. So just for my piece of mind and for everyone else's information (if they care)....

And yeah it's kinda late, I've been drinking, I'm tired, and my legs hurt from too much DDR. Random thoughts will reign...

Epilogue:

First of all flying business class rules. First class was alright, but Kern's right; if you're flying on an MD-80, there's hardly any difference. But any-who, I had to mention that first. I think that's what made the trip home so cool. I hate long flights enough as is, but this one... well, I'll just keep it simple. Business class is the shit. \m/

Leaving Arlington wasn't that bad. I was able to get to big B on one final blackhawk flight. Well... technically two. I had a "layover" at another base before finally reaching Baghdad. The food was really good and I got in a few days of work. Not bad.
...It wasn't bad at all.

I will NEVER get tired of seeing blackhawks flying overhead. I miss it already.

I miss the free bottled water that could be found EVERYWHERE.

Given the choices of dying by enemy attack or a blackhawk crash, I would have picked the crash.

No more midnight MRE snacks. :-(

Do I regret it? Hell no. It's probably one of the best experiences I've ever had.

Am I glad that I'm finally done? Yes.

Do I have any immediate plans to ever go back? NO.

Resumption:

Yes, yes... I know. This post has come WAAAYYY too late. Oh well. What can I say? I started it as a draft and forgot about it. But I still think that it's a nice one to post.

But on to more important things...

As most of us know, Jason is leaving again for the Desert very soon. Dude, keep your head down, kick some ass, and stick with the Mambas. I wish you the best of luck and plenty of ammo.
