"Base Alpha, Report!" the transceiver squawked.
The seargent glared at the thrice damned box. Every time he tried to reach Base, the damn trans would go out and he'd be stuck trying to bury himself in the mud just to keep bullets from skinning his nose. He slid the corporals boot out of his way, earning the corporal a few more bullets. Pretty sure he wouldn't mind it though. It's not that hard to ignore the pain if your head isn't there. Damn mission had gone sour at almost the beginning.
Seargent Radcliff flicked the trans and reported "Tango Excursion Nogo, Determine Evac Route."
He listened for a few minutes and, not having heard anything, swore to himself that if he ever got back to Base Alpha, he would spend a little time with the quartermaster explaining how things with the mission went with his fists. Hell, he might even invite the QM out for the next excursion.
Damn - i suck at stories, but felt i should try giving it a little bit of a go - if anybody thinks that there is anything of merit in the little tidbit of informative story above, let me know. I'm still thinking about writing a book sometime.

Re: Jason - I will have to think about the best way to make up a good story for you boys. I would really hate to start writing a great story (little wierd - come on, it's me were talkin' about here) and then really, actually meet someone, and then they like stumble onto the blog or something. But since it's just a rumor anyway, it shouldn't hurt. Now I just have to think of a great story. Maybe something like this one dude and another dude start sharing dreams in the desert.... nah, I don't like horror stories.
