El Feo Kern: Re: 'Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane...
"First of all, Plano does not see much action, if any. Second, if there is some sort of attack against Plano, I am not sure that Bob, Tim, Kevin and I can hold down the fort."
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA... I'm not quite sure why that is SO funny to me, but it is.
well - I better get back to packin my bags.
ya know ... sometimes the vacations we take end up being more stressful than the stress we're trying to leave behind... funny how that works
e.g. -
"WHERE THE F#$% IS MY PASSPORT!?!?!
oh... the same spot it was the last time i freaked out about it"
- downright soothing :)
Jason AKA: [RT] NegativePwr: Changes to the site
Well I have made a few changes to the blog such as the name and description. As you all know that Gerry will soon be in Iraq working on this project. Kern has also been hired by Parsons to come out here and work as well. I am sure that we will all be using this site to communicate with our friends and families back home. I have made Gerry an admin of this site as well so he can invite people to blog. For those of you who do not know what Red Team is.....well....We are nerds and it is the name of our online computer gaming clan....ok I said it....WE ARE NERDS.....Anyway I felt it appropriate to change the name as What's up with Jason, Gerry and Kern did not have that ring to it. I will also begin working on changing that actual web address from http://jasoniraq.blogspot.com to something more appropriate as well....Anyway I leave for Germany from Kuwait tomorrow moring and Kern will meet me there on the 1st of July. It should be fun but you may not hear from me or Kern for about 2 weeks. Well Keep on postin I will talk to you all later.
Zero: Re: Saturday
What can I say? It was awesome. Yeah, I know I missed the "pre-party" at Re.H.A.B, but I still got to Sharky's at like 2200. I was in Southlake earlier visiting a friend before I left. 'Thanx to everyone to that came out, bought me drinx, played pool, said goodbye, and braided my hair. A special thanx to Ashley for saving me from the 40 year old desperate woman working the bar... *shivers* . Damn it, I can't believe I'm still at work!! What the hell's wrong with me?! Why the hell am I still here?!
Viva la Midori Kamakazis and uno Bud Light!!!!
me: That sucks
They should just kill them all and make the world a more happy place.
El Feo Kern: NEWS FLASH!
Like anyone's gonna miss this, but still... worth postin, imo.
get on with the clicky clicky!

Guess its the time of year for long days... I feel it too. So you may be coming back to Dallas for Training? That would be cool... But isn't Codan an Australian Company? It would be much cooler to go there for training.
Jason AKA: [RT] NegativePwr: The Long Week
Yes, I know exactly how you feel Ashley. It seems like each hour is 5 hours. I am just trying not to look at my watch or the date. It does not seem to make it go faster but at least I do not sad as much throughout the day when I learn that only 20 minutes has passed. Anyway.....It will come soon enough. I know it will. But the bad part about it is that it will be over so fast that that I do not know what happened. However.....There is a chance right now that I may be staying in England or even....now don't hold your breath....flying back to Dallas to take a class on Codan radios. My boss is trying to arrange it for us and there is a slim chance it wil go through because it costs 10,000 to go. But we are trying all the same. We will see how it goes....But for now. I am just sitting and waiting and the days seem like years. Oh well I am going to go stare at a clock on the wall now....
Zero: Let's Rock!!!
YEAH!!!
(...what did you expect?)
El Feo Kern: damn it Jason
Afghanie-land huh?
i'd prolly prefer that over Iraq as well.
GERMANY < one week - ohhhhhh yeeeaaaahhhh!
LETS ROCK *queue smart-gun fire*
::looks at Gerry::
El Feo Kern: Tim?... dead?
that has to be the only answer.
the boy must have kicked it...
No, no ... dont cry - he's now on the big bar stool in the sky
HEY! THAT RHYMED! w00t
*moment of silence*
me: Damn it man damn it
What is your obbsession over there? Are you banging camels or something? 3 years is to long. Now I have to put my foot down on this one and say maybe. Now now I know its harsh but i have to say it.
Jason AKA: [RT] NegativePwr: Just Around the Corner
I am back in Baghdad again. Just wanted to let everyone know that all is good. Home is just around the corner. I leave Kuwait on the 30th for Germany. I will be spending a few days in Kuwait before my flight to check in on our office down there and make sure that their systems are running ok. I got a list from some of the people here of all the good stuff to do in Berlin so that should be fun. Anyway I am now thinking that I am going to buy a house by the end of the year. I figure it is a good time to buy since the Dallas area is a buyers market right now. I am going to pay off my car and all the little bills still lurking around out there by mid July and then I will be gin saving the %20 down payment. I am hoping that i have the %20 by Oct when I go home so I can close on a house while I am there. I will then rent it out to some good friends in Dallas and they can look over it for me until I get home. Rght now I am contemplating staying in the middle east for 2-3 years now. Here in the next 6-8 months another contract like the one I am working on right now will be starting up in Afghanastan. I am thinking that after my year in Iraq I will move over to that one for another year. There may even be some management opputunities there but that is just speculation right now. Anyway gotta go I will post again soon.
El Feo Kern: Ashley?
where in my post does it mention anything about the phone interview being related to computers?
(hint: it doesnt)
because it was a sex shop - "electronics" yes, computers no
btw, now i can get you that stuff that you needed that one time that i couldnt get for you cause i was with that person that wouldnt understand like everyone else thats reading this right now, ya know?
so it all works out.
*twitch*
BACK TO WORK!
El Feo Kern: Booo hissss
well - my first real attempt at seeking employment outside of algx failed today
*queue the sighs of sadness and pity... come on - get on with it - i want TEARS people!*
shot down at the "phone interview" process.
*rinse, repeat*
but all is not lost - the guy that interviewed me was really cool and i have a feeling i made (at least) a descent impression on the guy (hey! shut up and let me live in my lie!).
im gonna go weep now
that is all.
me: Present for Ashely
Ashely I already bought one for you and it's in the mail sorry.
El Feo Kern: about $150 for less than 60 seconds of my time
Jury Duty -
got to the McKinney courthouse.
walked in about the same time as three other very unhappy individuals
they took our summons papers as soon as we walked in the door and informed
us our jury duty had been served (the case was thrown out)
walked out with three rather happy individuals.
w00t!
::continues to pack his bags without having to worry about the fine he
would have gotten for ditchin jury duty if he had been picked::
El Feo Kern: Dispel the Myths... please! ::RIMSHOT::
aight guys ... I almost hate to kill this "Iraqi Loch ness", but
someone pointed something out to me in the picture of the two facehuggers
(no, it was not i that noticed, so i cannot take the credit for it)
*eh hem* If you would please direct your attention to
exhibit A
you will notice that the apparent "Gynormasity" of the little bastards
is a mere "trick of the eye"
This little optical illusion can be countered by evidence found in the
top right corner of the picture were you will notice the palm of an african american.
This is the palm that is holding up said facehuggers.
EXHIBIT A:
so to sum up - it is clear to see that these are not infact earth bound facehuggers
that some of us would like to believe they are (namely me), but in fact
REALLY BIG F'N SPIDERS! dear lord i cant believe mother nature would allow something
like that to live! heh, jk
Zero: Well...
...I'm not a terribly aggressive person, and I'd like to think that the camel spiders *cough* facehuggers *cough* *cough*, and I can come to a mutual understanding about personal boundaries and respect. But If one of those things decides to get a little too 'feisty'... Well... just look what happened to the last poor fellow.

As for the "uber" alien, intelligence is still pending. We'll keep you informed...
Jason AKA: [RT] NegativePwr: The Dreaded Camel Spider
Ok....I think the issue of the camel spider needs to be addressed. First off I have been all over this country and I have only seen 5-6. Now the ones that I have seen seem to get to to be the size of a fist and that includes legs and all. The picture that was posted on this site is a very famous one and has been distributed throughout the internet because of the size of the ones in the picture. Kern is correct that is 2 camel spider being show in the picture. However all of the ones I have seen and everyone I have talked to said the ones in the picture are the largest they have ever seen. Yes they do tend to get big however they are not deadly. Their venom from what I know is like a anesthetic that will numb the flesh while it proceeds to feed on you. However I am pretty sure that I would feel a huge spider on my leg eating my flesh. But once again I have never seen on that big and pray that I never do. As for them charging you it is not that they are attacking you. They hate sunlight more than anything and they are running for your shadow to get in the shade. I only know this because at CRC they felt I necessary to give an entire brief on the camel spider because so many people have been freaked out by them.
me: Infesters
Hey Gerry I'd be careful they look to much like those aliens that infest you on alien swarm. In fact I belive they be one and same. Its not just game over there its a way of life so beware and watch out for the uber Alien.
Anonymous: Creeped
*Shivers*
Zero: Great...
...so they work in teams now. Heh.
El Feo Kern: Camel Spider
ok...
something i forgot to tell you about these things last night (aside from the whole "screams while it runs 25mph" farce) is that the picture you have there is TWO (2) camel spiders. I believe they are being handled like fish would be (dangling on a line).
the only reason i know anything about these creepy little nightmares is because i too shat myself when i read the myths about these little guys (didnt know they were myths at the time... I just cried myself to sleep each night until i found the truth)
::pulls the triger and then slowly lowers the hammer back into it rested, non-leathal position:: Twitch twitch
Zero: KILL IT!!!

Ok, now this is the crap I'm not too keen on. I am NOT gonna be waking up in the morning to see one of these facehuggers in my bed or (god forbid), in my sleeping bag... Uh, uh... It's just NOT happening.
Jason AKA: [RT] NegativePwr: Home Leave.....
Well....
The time for home leave is getting closer. Soon I will be in Berlin enjoying comfortable beds and good food. I am looking forward to it however the other day I realized that the only clothing I have is the stuff I have here. Desert Combat Boots, Desert Cargo Pants, Specialy vented shirts for extreme heat envioments (Desert color). I have determined that I should maybe get a couple of outfits for the trip so I went on Eddie Bauer and ordered some new stuff and Kern will bring it with him to Berlin. I have also got a couple of new toys for use in Iraq and on the vacation including a new IPAQ PDA with a Bluetooth GPS reciever + Map software of all major cities in Europe plus a couple of new games to occupy my free time when I am in Iraq. Anyway I am looking forward to getting out of this country for a bit and back to civilization.
El Feo Kern: "you only love me, right?" here comes the mysterious powder slipped in your coffee
Aight - now im no lady killer or nothin nor do i have to beat the girls off with a stick, so i'm am by default more faithful than most (not to say that if i
was a lady killer that i
wouldn't be faithful ::evil grin::), but this is some
scary shit
not that i am opposed to them going as far as they can with this research... i'm just gonna have to watch out for those "hidden love potions" in my local watering hole whenever i am involved with someone... thats all... not paranoid... why are you looking at me like that?
me: ah
that was a dog? it looks like the rat like ball of hair under Gerry's bed freaky.
El Feo Kern: hold on...
let me rephrase my last post...

This picture was sent with the help of Hello. I have been using Hello for 2 days now and have done 2 scans with the full version of ad-aware and 2 scans with Spy Bot. There has been no ad-ware detected, no spy bots. It is a free tool provided by blogger. This particular picture was taken at a camp that is now no longer in use. This particular shot was 240 Tons of CEA (Captured Enemy Ammunition). THis is no the largest I have seen. The largest that I have seen was 520 Tons more than 2 times the size of the one in the picture.

El Feo Kern: Counter measures
I'm not so sure i support the Navy's new counter measures that they have implemented on their helicopters recently - it just seems a little... cruel.
more than likely someone was able to prove a pile of seamen *chuckle* attached to a rope has a greater heat signature than a chopper engine going at it full tilt.
still no cure for cancer (as someone from fark.com would say)
ADMIN NOTE
This picture was placed in the post WITHOUT the use of the "Hello" software
so again - If anyone wants a pic in their post, but do not want to install hello (Is it painfully obvious yet that i am untrusting of "free" software? heh) please let me know.

El Feo Kern: Re: My Colorful Friends
woo... Completely missed that post.
Jason! I thought we agreed you wouldnt expose our little secret about the whole being "crazy" thing, but the cats outa the bag now so ... They're coming to take me away haha, they're coming to take me away *clicks his heels*.
oh, btw, the doctor tells me i am doing very well and that if i stay on this path of improvement they may give me back my shoes soon... they wont remove the straps, but at least my feet wont get so cold being down in the basement *grin*
Ashley is a lost cause though... he's just gonna dose her up on as many meds as he can and then hope for the best. The orderly is taking bets around the rec-area for the next week or so... if ya want i could throw in a few bucks for ya.
anyway - cool, we will leave this site the way it is then and i will do my best to keep it clean(er).
If you or anyone else here wants to post pictures (and dont want to install that somewhat questionable "hello" program - just post you intention to do so on the blog and i will contact you with an email address to send the pics to (i have a server we can host them off of... cause im cool like that *snaps and points*).
EuroPasses are "in hand" btw.
Nothing further to report at this time.

Jason AKA: [RT] NegativePwr: Forgotten Heros

I thought this was a good quote. So I posted it.
"If you are able, save for them a place inside of you and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go.
Be not ashamed to say you loved them, though you may or may not have always. Take what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own.
And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind."

Jason AKA: [RT] NegativePwr: Pictures
Ok....The blog is good....But I am a needy person. I need more pictures. Bob and Gerry have done a good job of sending me some but I need more. I am putting out the challenge for everyone that reads this blog to send me at least one picture (NOTE: Random pictures off the internet do not count.) One rule applies. Try to keep the email that you send with the pictures under 3MB as our bandwidth out here is limited. Well I better send this post because the power has been out now for about 15 minutes and the UPS backups I am sure are about to fail so I will talk to you all later.
Jason AKA: [RT] NegativePwr: My Colorful Friends
OK....First thing's first.
I am not opposed to a new blog starting up however I think that this one is fine as well. As far as my family goes they already know I have very "Special" friends. I told them that I got a job as a contractor at a mental institute to setup computers before I left and that is where I met all of you and this blog is just training on how to use the computer. Kern seems to be doing very well with this program.
Second:The RT website
Kern,
I will be getting just a couple of photos you can put up on the website if you like. This does not mean that all the photos I have sent you can be put up but I will send a new email with them in it. If I were you I would leave the PS Logo on the site. I think it is a good patch for RT.
El Feo Kern: hrm...
Julie has a good point (intentional or not)
upon reflection, I think as opposed to changing the URL for this blog, we should start up a second blog for everyone that goes out to iraq and leave this one for Jason's "PC" site (to focus on updating family members, etc).
our lovely little [RT] group means well (mostly), but can be a bit overpowering at times and is not always appropriate for mixed company.
we could use a blog that can handle our "unique" qualities and not offend people that may not understand our very colorful palette of terms, jokes, and outbursts.
It might be time to bring back
the RedTeamHQ.com Blog
I'll start workin on that.
El Feo Kern: AC monster? maybe
I agree with Michelle... there was something in that apartment that is causing some unexplainable issue with the males in the group. something thats making them want to go to dangerous and dirty lands in search of adventure and gold.... *shrug*
of course now that i think about it... i bet "it" came from the sink.
El Feo Kern: Damn it Ashley!
(ya know almost every post I make thats directed towards Ashley has "Damn it" in the title or close to the top of the post... that says somethin... anywho, on with the damning)
ASHLEY! Who let you out of your cage!
no threats on the Blog - keep it clean...
unless JJ is reading... then it can be dirty, REAL dirty
*rubs his nippies*
The comments made in this post do not necessarily reflect the views of Kern, the voices in his head, nor any of his subsidiaries.
El Feo Kern:
Blog URL Update
Ok guys...
since Gerry will almost certainly be joining Jason out in the field it would prolly be best to update the blogspot URL (e.g. - jasoniraq.blogspot.com)
Personally I think the URL should be changed to RTiraq.blogspot.com ( rt is short for RedTeam ).
i really cant think of anything more fitting, but by all means post your ideas on if
A). you dont want it to change or
B). if you dont mind the change, what you would like it changed to.
El Feo Kern: for those not in "the know"

Zero: Finally.. (said in the Starcraft 'Ghost' voice)
Well, I finally made it on here. Now that I'm here I'm sure I'll be posting frequently.... although I do have a tendency to "lurk" on message boards and bloggers... Heh. Anyway, I look forward to getting out there and establishing the Red Team 'Expeditionary' Force with Jason. Red Team, go! Not to mention all the sand and heat-(oh, yeah!). I've just got to make sure I get my concepts of North and South straight before I get out there... You never know when that'll come in handy.
Anyways, good luck with the keyboard, Kern. I will certainly try my best to get that price down as much as possible. Come this Friday, I will storm the beaches of Guitar Center and my planes will fill the sky... umm, yeah.. nevermind... But while we're on the topic of obsessions, I finally picked up a little something I've had an equal yearning for... and although it's no where near as pricy as the keyboard, here it is for all to see:

El Feo Kern: damn it...
heavy machinery, HEAVY MACHINERY!
forget the wal-mart thing... GEEEEEZZZZ!
heh
I know i should prolly drop the keyboard idea, but the piano is a passion for me no matter how bad i suck at it.
it all depends on the price Gerry can get.
Jason AKA: [RT] NegativePwr: The Keyboad
Kern,
I looked up the price of the keyboard. All I can say is HOLY F#!CK. Ok....that keyboard is around 3K on the internet. Lets say Gerry can get you a MONSTER DISCOUNT...Better that any blue light special at Walmart and the discount is for 40% off. You are still looking at around 2K after taxes....Now I am making some pretty decent money out here and even I would crap my pants over a buy like that. Now of course if it was something I really wanted I would have already bought it and my post would have been about the awesome new keyboard I just got and how I would be living in a cradboard box for the next 2 months.....But that is because I have a impulse buying problem. By the way....Good luck with the Walmart thing I know it is asking too much out of life to work there but everyone has to dream.
Jason AKA: [RT] NegativePwr: Alive And Well
Hello All,
Well....Some have asked why I have not been posting lately. I am sorry but I have been very busy over here. I now in the holy city of An Najaf. I am here covering for one our IT gys since he went on home leave. A pretty interesting note..On the way down we stopped in Babylon and I walked along the Euphrates river. Quite a peaceful place. Anyway my home leave is coming up very quickly. Soon I will be in Kuwait for a couple of days then off to Germany where I plan to have a few beers and a long shower.....On another note by the time I get back from my home leave Gerry should be getting into Iraq to begin working. That's right you heard me. Gerry was hired by my manager a couple of days ago and is now going through the horrible process of getting all the paperwork and medical tests done. For those who do not know Gerry and are posting on this blog.....You should know him...Well you should know who he is if you have talked to me at all in the last 2 years as he was my roomate for the last 2 years up until a couple of months before I left. Gerry is a good guy and I wish him a safe journey out here. Well I have to run....work work work...but I will be sure to stay in contact more often.
I am going to post my AOL Instant Messanger Name and my MSN Messanger name for a couple of days so everyone that wants it can have it. Just remember when sending me an IM the 9 hour time diffrence. After about 2 days these names will be removed from the blog just so I don't get wierd people IM'ing me.

You have been druling over that thing for almost a month now you indesisive bastard buy it or build your own from card board boxes and spare ethernet. eitherway should make you very happy.
El Feo Kern: current obsession
Gaze upon me!
It would be a mistake to purchase such an expensive piece of hardware... but it would be a mistake that wouldnt haunt me for 12, payment/interest free, months!
and believe me - I could find a way to justify it.
El Feo Kern: focus
ok people...
We are losing focus on what my life goal really is...
my goal is to ultimately be dismembered by heavy machinery (preferably industrial farm equipment) because of my absent mindedness and complete disregard for safety... a position at wal-mart would just be icing, so to speak.
now that we're clear on that, on to a much more important topic:
Jason! why the crap have you not posted in 4+/- days... what gives?
SPEAK! THE MASSES COMMAND YOU!
El Feo Kern: *cough* Kevin */cough*
good to finally see you with us, but for the purposes of this blog I'm gonna have to ask you to ... go ahead and just ... change your display name to "Kevin"... yeah , that would be great */Lumberg*

Kern I think you should bring Ashely some Cheese preferably old or not what ever. But if you wal-mart you'll be bucks hero, in that her and her husband have tried unsuccsefuly to obtain employment at this presteiges establishment, that is reserved for only top executive level trailer trash.

El Feo Kern: just got word...
... I will not have a job when i get back from Europe.
They denied my request for leave, so I have put in my notice (going to hang out with Jason for the first time in 3 months is just a weeeeeeee bit more important to me than this "job")
it's no lie, seeking employment sucks... especially for someone as "distinct" as myself.
It is for the better though. This place is literally eating away at my soul (I wish I could say that it's an exaggeration, but it isnt) and everyone i speak with on a regular basis knows this... since i have a tendency to bitch and moan like a old and busted has-been movie star that was never really famous in the first place (odd analogy, but works in my mind).
I will however miss alot of the people i work with (3yrs with the same group will do that to ya), but they prolly wont miss me - so it works out for everybody!
I dont think i'm gonna go for another tech job when i get back either
I think im gonna move to the country, get a job at wal-mart, get married, pop out some kids (thats gonna hurt) and then ultimately get dismembered by some heavy machinery because i forgot to button my flannel.
*straight face, monitone voice*wow... that sounds like a plan.
*/straight face, monitone voice*
*sigh*
*EDIT*
now that i think about it though... I KNOW this is for the better.
how do i know? you ask (just play along)... I know because i just thought back to that old "anti-drug" commercial of that guy running through the city (gives the impression he's working out) and then as the announcer says in a stern voice "nobody ever says i wanna be a junkie when i grow up" a cops hand reaches out and grabs the guy (you then realize he's a junkie being chased for [place random drug related crime here]... obviously) ... and just after i played that commercial through in my head i though... "ehh... it wouldnt be that bad."
yeah , it's time for something else... like now
Jason AKA: [RT] NegativePwr: Who's Your Baghdaddy!!!
The title of this blog comes from a T-Shirt they sell here.....Personally...I thought it was not that funny but it seem to be popular so maybe you will get a chuckle out of it. Anyway I just got back into Baghdad and I am attempting to take a day off....Basically I am only working 8 hours instead of 12-14. I had quite a trip this last week. I visited 4 sites in 5 days...Pretty rough schedule and lots of traveling. I am not sure how long I will be in Baghdad this time around but I will be sure to let everyone know whats going on when I get there. I was in and around Mosule this week. Pretty interesting place...not much diffrent from others.....Desert.....Lot's of desert....and like 2 hills.... Me and Kern are begining to ramp up for our trip to Europe and it should be fun. I think I got my plane ticket squared away and I got the hotel setup for when we get there. We are now looking into the Euro Rail passes because we are going to take a train from Berlin to London making a few key stops along the way...One of which I am looking forward too is the WWII memorial in France. Then it is off to London where we will hang with the Brits for a few days. Well it is time for dinner and I am getting a treat tonight...One I only get when I am in Baghdad....That's right....You said it....Burger King....mmmmmmm *Jason Druling* mmmmmmm.....Getting food like that out here is rare so we take advantage of it when we get the chance....well gotta run....Keep on posting
El Feo Kern: D-Day - June 6, 1944
"YOU DONT KNOW! YOU WERENT THERE!" certainly applies to myself, but it doesnt mean I (and by "I" i mean "we") cant take a moment this sunday to at least think about the fathers, brothers, and sons that
do know because they
were there.
bbc.co.uk's WWII/D-Day site - very nicely done.
It's a respect thing
prolly the saddest part of The whole war is that, not so far into the future, i have to come across a Fark.com article to remember... *sigh*
I blame it on the government trying to read my thoughts from their
cloaked space platform - codename: BigBird
::franticly looks for his tin-foil hat::
Jason AKA: [RT] NegativePwr: Germany Vacation
Well....Me and Kern have decided not go to Italy. We are going to spend 3-4 days in Berlin and then we are taking the Euro Rail to Frankfurt for 2 days. From there we go to France for 1 day then off to London for 3-4 Days. This is the plan however we are going to "Wing It" while we are there and try to stick to that Schedule. As far as any problems you are having with the BLOG. Your post came through fine. Are you not able to view the actual page where the posts are....Obviously if you are reading this that is not the case. Well I hope that you have a good time in Italy but just to let you know JJ decided to come with me and Kern and get trashed in German bars...hehe...Anyway we will be in Europe from July 1st to July 11th. It should be good times.
On Another Note.....WTF Happened to BOB?
I saw like one or two posts from him in the begininng and !#BANG*& !@POOF$% #$WHAM^% ...Bob stops posting......._______________ FLAT LINE ________________________
Tell him to start posting again........Or I will fly back from Iraq just teach him a lesson.... LOL....
El Feo Kern: what problems?
what issues are you having Ashley.
Looks like your last one came through fine.
El Feo Kern: Damn it Ashley
you know much i hate making Monkey babies... i mean it takes alot of mouse pelts to make the skin ... and I can never get their little heads to stay on right.
oh , and stop kidding yourself... you know my heart belongs to JJ.
he will be joining me on my
*wink* open-jaw
*/wink* flight back home. *grr*
The comments made in this post do not necessarily reflect the views of Kern, the voices in his head, nor any of his subsidiaries.
El Feo Kern: what is an open-jaw?
just a PSA since it appears i'm not the only one that doesnt know
"An open-jaw air ticket allows a member to fly from point of origin to one destination, and return to the point of origin via a different destination. For example, a member may choose to fly from Hong Kong to London, but return to Hong Kong via Paris."
so my original staement
"It's a round trip ticket from DFW to London" was incorrect.
Its a ticket from DFW to Berlin (that just happens to land in London) and then a flight from London to DFW to complete the open-jaw round trip".
now that everyone is clear on the matter, i'm gonna go eat some fruit.
Jason AKA: [RT] NegativePwr: Times and Dates
October Dates:
Well....As far as the october dates go I wll be eligable for home leave on the 10th of October. I will probably be home somewhere between the 10th and 15th and then stay for 10 days. I look forward to it a great deal. 6 months away from home is bad but being in Iraq for 6 months away from home is worse but I should make it with no problems.
Operation Dinner Out/Operation Jury Duty:
It sounds like the airplane thing will work. I would just make sure that you know exactly who to talk to at Heathrow about it. Mom, do you know anything about these types of ticket? As far as the jury duty thing goes I believe there are easier ways out (Not that a man with no pants claiming to hate all colors of people and is either for or against the death penalty all depending on what Ophra Whinfrey had for breakfast would not work BUT). The judge will have everyone in the courtroom and you will have a chance to talk to him I believe. If you already have the plane ticket and the reservations they should let you go with no problem. I have talked to people that have been to jury duty and you will have an oppurtunity to justify why you can't do it. HOwever I would still go to the court house before and talk to them ASAP just to be sure.
Anyway I have been doing alot of traveling lately. I am now up in Mosule. Not too bad here however I did see my first Camel Spider today. It was a small one and I have a picture but nasty looking all the same. Apparently they not very common down south however they are all over up here. The people here have seen them a litle over a foot long. Hopefully I do not run into a big one here. Well gotta run....Let me knows whats up with everyone.
El Feo Kern: ...
I do what i can...
it's for the puppies.
El Feo Kern: Ugh
I need to sleep more...
anyway, before i forget.
there is a wrench flying towards the gears of Operation Dinner Out.
the wrenches name is "Jury Duty".
6-21 i've got to go up to McKinney court house...
I've got a plan though
I'm just gonna let them know I'm a racist... against Whites, Blacks, and all the colors in between... and my feelings on the death penalty are directly related to what cereal Oprah Winfrey eats in the morning.
e.g. -
Honey Nut Cheerios... let em live.
Shredded wheat... I'll throw the switch myself.
oh, and i'm not gonna wear pants either
I figure that should do the trick >)
There is a method to the madness.
El Feo Kern: Operation: Dinner Out
looks to be a "go"
Got my passport (3 weeks early, w00t)
and the plane ticket is reserved
oh yeah, things are falling into place nicely.
little better than expected actually... why? The plane ticket i got is why...
It's a round trip ticket from DFW to London
now before you freak out Jason - lemme esplain
it's a "open-jaw" ticket... wtc that means? *shrug*
but what it does for me is :
I'll be leaving from DFW headed to NY, then from NY to London, and THEN (this is the jaw thingy) I get a oneway to Berlin (wrapped in the same ticket somehow... i'm fairly certain there are genies or some crap involved in some form or fashion, but i'll have to get back to you on that one). and once we get to London, I complete my round trip straight back to DFW from there (no stops... oh yeah).
but wait... there's more.
The plane I will be traveling across the ocean in, is a 777... not to much of a surprise, BUT the kicker is...
it's first class... ohhhhhhh yeah.
sleeper seats and booze... I may not get off the plane.
anyway - keep up the good work dodging the rockets (pfft... "no big deal"... ass. remember I dont have many friends to start with, so keep you're head down)
OH... I didnt say I didnt like the goat... i was just razzin ya.
anyway ... i have to wake up in 3-4 hrs.
I will be on aim at about 11-11:30a CST
adios
