The following article is a hilarious though suprisingly knowledgable tid-bit regarding the basic principles of hydro-static shock and how bullets kill people. This particular trove of wisdom showcases the infamous "Black Talon" (still available under the new name Ranger SXT, sans the cool black look).
That's right, the same bullets made famous by the media who loved to exaggerate how these "high-speed miniature buzzsaws" did anything from tear through body armor (ala cop killer) to blowing off whole limbs. While most of that stuff was all hype, (though surgeons were known to cut their gloves and fingers when pulling these lethal babies from bodies), the following article takes it a step further.

Zero: Let's Rock!!! (part 3)
Ok, what we have here is a decent Aliens fanfilm. It's by no means perfect (the 3-D movement is a bit slugish and some dialogue parts are comparable to wet cardboard), but it's still an ok project IMO. The biggest problem I had with this flick is that the first 7 minutes are almost EXACTLY the same as the Aliens movie... dialogue, camerashots, everything!!! That's some major points against originality and creativity if you ask me. On the other hand -being that this is only part 1 of 3- there is a lot of potential to where this project can go. Even with its apparent faults, I think it's still a better movie than Fox's "AvP" *puke*
(at least this one has Colonial Marines...) *wretch* *puke*. The overall cinematography is great (transitions, cuts, etc), music/sound fx are good, and the feeling of suspense is done wonderfully. But don't take my word for it. Check out the High-Rez Final Trailer. It's definitely is worth it!
Creepy smoky corridors, check.

I know it is the day after Christmas however I found this poem today and thought I would share. I think it is a pretty good tribute.
'Twas the night before Christmas,
He lived all alone,
In a one bedroom house made of Plaster and stone.
I had come down the chimney
With presents to give,
And to see just who
In this home did live.
I looked all about,
A strange sight I did see,
No tinsel, no presents,
Not even a tree.
No stocking by mantle,
Just boots filled with sand,
On the wall hung pictures
Of far distant lands.
With medals and badges,
Awards of all kinds,
A sober thought
Came through my mind.
For this house was different,
It was dark and dreary,
I found the home of a soldier,
Once I could see clearly.
The soldier lay sleeping,
Silent, alone,
Curled up on the floor
In this one bedroom home.
The face was so gentle,
The room in such disorder,
Not how I pictured
A United States soldier.
Was this the hero

To all new people,
Welcome to our little corner of web. Currently I have been harassing Gerry at his camp. Weather report has been cold, cloudy and random rain. Recently I have been entertaining the idea of Afghanistan after this year is up. It seems there will be another CEA project starting up there and I am thinking that I will jump on the wagon heading that way once they are ready to start things up. Kinda strange but things have seemed to go by pretty fast this last year. I have been I Iraq now for 9 months now. Only 3 more to go and I will have completed my first tour. Anyway I hope all is well and I have heard that Kern has arrived in Kuwait and is heading back into the ZONE!!!!!! Let's all give Kern a big welcome back to the hell hole home we call Iraq. Anyway it seems that I will have a chance to see and work with Kern when I get done harassing Gerry and I look forward to it.
